Just think … Career Advice from a Recruiter’s Perspective!
We recruiters make our living by knowing what employers want and matching the opening with the right candidate. Wouldn’t you like to think the way a recruiter does in your job search? Can you imagine the benefit? Well here’s your chance.
For years I have recognized the tremendous resources which professional recruiters have to offer to both clients and candidates. We’re smart, extremely intuitive, money motivated and, most importantly, connected. But quite frankly, the overall opinion of recruiters leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps, being a bit of a Don Quixote, I am daring to “Dream the Impossible Dream”. I’m on a quest to change that perception.
Recruiters typically only get paid when they deliver results. And because of that, we tend to move those activities which are perceived to be non-income producing to the back burner. Go a little easy on us … we’re trying to provide for our families, too. With so many people to serve and so little time in the day, our attention span can be rather short … sort of like the scene in the movie “Up” when Dug sees a “squirrel”.
